Job summary

RAC is seeking a Mobile Mechanic/SMR technician in the Saffron Walden area. You will perform planned servicing, diagnostics with advanced mobile equipment, and in-depth repairs at members' locations, delivering high-quality service and safety checks aligned to RAC standards.

You'll work on a clearly planned schedule with pre-booked jobs, using a fully equipped RAC van and tools to keep customers moving, while enjoying independence and the support of a national organisation.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• 2+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic or 5+ years' experience.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In depth repairs you'd normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
