Job summary

RAC is seeking skilled Mobile Mechanics for its SMR division. Work is pre-booked with a clear schedule, delivering planned servicing, diagnostics, and repairs at members’ locations.

You will operate with a fully equipped RAC van, tools, and support, focusing on quality, safety, and customer reassurance. Ideal candidates have NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) and at least 2 years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician, plus a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
• UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
• 2+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician or 5+ years' experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine servicing and safety checks.
• Carry out diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• Complete in-depth repairs and inspections to RAC standards.
• Advise members and provide clear explanations of findings.
