Job summary

RAC is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division in the East of England. You will perform routine servicing, diagnostics, and in-depth repairs on booked jobs, with all tools and a fully equipped RAC van provided. You will advise members and follow RAC standards to ensure safe, reliable outcomes.

Expect a 40-hour week, core hours 8:30–17:00, with Saturdays on a rotation. A UK driving licence with clean points is required, NVQ2 or equivalent.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years' experience or 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic and a full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
• The role is a mobile technician position working on driveways and car parks with pre-booked jobs and planned work.
• No emergency callouts; scheduled daily work with provided tools and van.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• Perform in-depth repairs typically done in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection and RAC standards.
• Follow clear schedules and complete reporting for each job.
