Job summary

RAC is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division in the UK. You will perform planned servicing, diagnostics with advanced mobile equipment, and in‑depth repairs at customers’ driveways or workplaces, delivering high‑quality service to RAC members.

You will work a 40‑hour week with some Saturdays, receive a competitive base salary, and have access to overtime, bonuses, and pension benefits. Training and career development are supported by the RAC.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience OR 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic AND a full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing and diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• In‑depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Perform vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.

Education

NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
