Job summary

RAC SMR mobile technicians operate on a planned schedule, visiting members at driveways or workplaces to perform servicing, diagnostics, and repairs with full equipment and support. You’ll work independently within a structured, non-emergency service model, delivering high-quality repairs and clear member guidance from day one.

The role offers a 40-hour week, mobile van support, and opportunities for ongoing technical development within the RAC SMR division, including access to industry

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
• 2+ years' experience or 5+ years as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine servicing on member vehicles.
• Carry out diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• Complete in-depth repairs typically done in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations after inspection.
• Conduct vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
