Job summary

The RAC is expanding its SMR division to deliver scheduled maintenance and repairs directly to members at driveways or workplace car parks. You will operate a fully equipped RAC van, conducting pre-booked jobs with time, tools, and support provided to ensure quality work.

Expect routine servicing, diagnostics, and in-depth repairs, plus member advice and safety checks. This role emphasizes planned work, professional independence, and steady schedule rather than emergency callouts.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• 2+ years' experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine servicing, diagnostics using mobile equipment, and in-depth repairs at customer sites.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection findings.
• Carry out vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
