Job summary

The RAC is expanding its SMR division to deliver planned, on-site maintenance and repairs directly to members, from their driveway to parking lots. As a Mobile Vehicle Technician, you’ll work to a pre-booked schedule, not emergency callouts, with a fully equipped RAC van and a structured workflow.

You’ll perform servicing, diagnostics, and in-depth repairs while offering professional guidance to members and ensuring safety checks meet RAC standards.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic (alternative path).
• Full UK driving licence, fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
