Job summary

The RAC is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its Service, Maintenance & Repair (SMR) division. You’ll work on planned, pre-booked jobs at customers’ driveways or car parks, with a fully equipped RAC van and diagnostic tools to perform high‑quality servicing and repairs.

You’ll operate in the Taunton cluster (Taunton, Wellington, Minehead, Watchet, Williton), following a scheduled workload with no emergency callouts.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
