Job summary

The RAC is expanding its SMR division to deliver planned, structured repair and servicing directly to members at their homes or workplaces. As a Mobile Vehicle Technician, you’ll handle pre‑booked jobs with no emergency callouts, using advanced diagnostics and on‑site repairs to keep members moving.

You’ll work in the Newbury cluster with a clear schedule, earning a competitive base salary and achievable bonuses.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and diagnostics on customer vehicles
• Perform in‑depth repairs with mobile equipment
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection
• Conduct vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
• Work through a pre‑booked schedule with planned appointments
