Job summary

RAC is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. The role offers a competitive base salary of £40,170 with on-target earnings up to £52,000, plus overtime and bonus opportunities.

You will work a 40-hour week (Mon–Sat), perform diagnostics with mobile equipment, and deliver planned servicing and repairs across the Reading cluster. You’ll be pre-booked on appointments with a clearly planned schedule, allowing you to focus on quality work away from emergency callouts.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent certification in Light Vehicle Maintenance.
• 2+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic or 5+ years’ experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing on customers' vehicles.
• Perform diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• Complete in-depth repairs and provide customer advice based on inspection.
• Adhere to RAC safety and quality standards.

Education
