Job summary

The RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for the Service, Maintenance & Repair (SMR) division. You’ll work on a pre-booked schedule delivering planned servicing and diagnostics at customers’ homes or workplaces across the Hemel Hempstead cluster.

No emergency callouts, just organised, pre-booked work where you can focus on doing the job properly. Expect a base salary of £45,370 (London Weighting may apply) with on-target earnings up to £57,000, a guaranteed overtime option to increase

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing and diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
