Job summary

RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for the SMR division. Earn a base of £45,370 (London Weighting if applicable) with on-target earnings up to £57,000. 40 hours weekly, core hours 8:30–17:00, plus 1 in 4 Saturdays.

You’ll work in Hemel Hempstead and surrounding areas delivering planned, pre-booked maintenance and repairs with full RAC support. Expect a fully equipped RAC van, fuel card, uniform, and tools.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years' experience.
• 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine servicing and diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• Complete in-depth repairs you'd normally do in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations after inspections.
• Conduct vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
• Work from a digital schedule with pre-booked jobs.
