Job summary

RAC is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR Division in the UK, covering the Walsall area. You’ll operate on a pre-booked schedule, travel to members’ driveways or workplaces, and perform routine servicing, diagnostics, and in-depth repairs.

You’ll work a 40-hour week with core hours and occasional Saturdays; you’ll receive a competitive package with overtime, bonuses, and a focus on delivering high‑quality, planned maintenance for members.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
