Job summary

RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR Division in the West Midlands. You will work a 40-hour week with a fixed schedule, performing planned servicing, diagnostics, and in‑depth repairs at members’ driveways and car parks.

You’ll be equipped with a RAC van, tools, and support to deliver high-quality, safe work. Expect a base salary around £40,178 with on-target earnings up to £52,000, plus overtime and bonus opportunities.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In‑depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
