Job summary

RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. The role is based on a fixed schedule with no on‑road emergency callouts, performing planned servicing and repairs on customers’ vehicles across the Bridgwater cluster area.

You’ll work on diagnostics and in‑depth repairs with a fully equipped RAC van, benefiting from overtime and bonus opportunities, 40 hours per week, and core hours 8:30 am to 5:00 pm with 1 in 4 Saturdays.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Routine planned servicing and inspections
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
• Organised, pre-booked work schedule with no emergency callouts
