Job summary

The RAC is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR Division. You will perform planned servicing, diagnostics, and in‑depth repairs at members’ driveways or workplaces, guided by a clear digital schedule.

With a base salary of £40,178 and OTE up to £52,000, the role includes guaranteed overtime and additional bonuses. Expect a 40-hour week and 1 in 4 Saturdays, in the West Midlands region.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing of vehicles.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
