Job summary

RAC is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. You will perform planned repairs and servicing directly at members' locations, not emergency roadside work, enabling predictable schedules and quality outcomes.

Expect a 40-hour week (8:30–17:00 core, 1 in 4 Saturdays) with base salary of £40,170 and potential earnings up to £52,000 plus overtime and bonuses. Competitive benefits and ongoing development are provided.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience or 5+ years’ experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic with a full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing and diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In‑depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Carrying out vehicle safety checks to RAC standards.
