Job summary

RAC is expanding its SMR division with a Mobile Vehicle Technician role. You will perform pre-booked servicing, diagnostics, and repairs on-site at customers’ locations, guided by a clear digital schedule.

No emergency breakdowns—just planned work with the tools and support to do quality repairs. The role focuses on independence, problem-solving, and delivering high-quality service, with a competitive base salary (£40,170) and potential to earn up to £52,000 with overtime and bonuses.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing for pre-booked appointments.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.

5+ years’ experience as Vehicle Tech/1

2+ years’ experience

Full UK driving licence

Education
