Job summary

The RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division, delivering planned servicing and repairs directly at members’ homes or workplaces. You’ll work from a pre‑booked schedule, with no on‑road emergencies, focusing on quality repairs and diagnostics in a structured environment.

You’ll use advanced mobile equipment, carry out routine servicing, diagnostics and in‑depth repairs, and provide clear safety checks and recommendations to members.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In‑depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
