Job summary

RAC in Reading cluster is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician for our SMR division. You’ll work on pre-booked appointments, performing routine servicing, diagnostics with advanced mobile equipment, and in-depth repairs, all with the aim of keeping members moving.

This role offers a base salary of £40,170 with OTE up to £52,000, guaranteed overtime options, a 40-hour week, and a structured development path within a national organisation.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent required; 2+ years’ experience acceptable
• 5+ years’ experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic preferred
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points required

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In-depth repairs typically done in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards

Skills

NVQ Level 2 or equivalent
