Job summary

The RAC is expanding its SMR division with a Mobile Vehicle Technician role in the Plymouth cluster, delivering planned inspections, diagnostics and repairs directly to members at driveways, car parks and workplaces.

You’ll work to a pre-booked schedule, no emergency callouts, with a fully equipped RAC van, overtime options and support for EV/diagnostic skills development; a 40-hour week with Saturday shifts offers reliability and progression.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
