Job summary

RAC is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. You will operate on a pre-booked schedule in the Northampton cluster area, servicing, diagnosing and repairing vehicles at members’ locations.

This role offers a base salary of £40,170 with on-target earnings up to £52,000, plus guaranteed overtime and a 40-hour week with some Saturdays on a rota. You'll work in a structured environment with a fully equipped RAC van, fuel card, uniform and advanced diagnostics.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• Perform in-depth repairs and vehicle safety checks.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Work to a pre-booked schedule with clear expectations.
