Job summary

The RAC Bath cluster is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician for the SMR division. This role operates on a planned, pre-booked schedule with a fully equipped RAC van, focusing on quality work rather than reactive callouts.

You’ll perform routine servicing, diagnostics, and in-depth repairs at members’ locations, using advanced mobile equipment and follow RAC safety standards. Training and structured development await as you progress in the SMR path.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent.
• 2+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic (or equivalent).
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing of vehicles.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs that would typically be done in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Conduct vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
