Job summary

RAC is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division in the Central Birmingham cluster. You will work on a pre-booked schedule, maintaining vehicles at members’ driveways or workplaces with a fully equipped RAC van and advanced diagnostics.

The role offers a structured, non-emergency environment with 40 hours per week and options for overtime. You’ll need an NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience or 5+ years as a Vehicle Technician, plus a

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing.
• Diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
