Job summary

The RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. You’ll work a pre-booked schedule with a fully equipped RAC van, earning a base salary of £40,178 and on-target earnings up to £52,000.

The role includes guaranteed overtime options, 40 hours per week, and a 1 in 4 Saturday pattern. Ideal candidates have NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or 5+ years as a Technician) and a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent with 2+ years’ experience.
• Alternatively 5+ years’ experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic with full UK driving licence (fewer than 6 points).

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing, diagnostics with mobile equipment, and in-depth repairs.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Conduct vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
