Job summary

The RAC is hiring a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. You will operate on pre-booked jobs across Bridgwater cluster areas, with a base salary of £40,170 and on‑target earnings up to £52,000. Expect 40 hours weekly, with some Saturdays, and guaranteed overtime opportunities.

You’ll use advanced mobile diagnostics, perform in-depth repairs, and deliver high-quality service while following RAC standards. Benefits include pension, life assurance, and exclusive savings portals.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• Perform in-depth repairs that would normally be done in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Conduct vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
• Work from a clearly planned schedule of pre-booked jobs.
