Job summary

The RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division, covering the Bridgwater cluster and surrounding areas. You’ll work on a pre-booked schedule, performing routine servicing, diagnostics with mobile equipment, and in-depth repairs at members' driveways or workplaces.

This full-time role offers a base salary of £40,170 with earnings up to £52,000, guaranteed overtime, and a 40-hour week with some Saturdays.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent is required.
• 2+ years’ experience in automotive maintenance.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned servicing and diagnostics.
• Perform in-depth repairs that would normally be done in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspections.
• Conduct vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
• Work from a clearly planned digital schedule.
