Job summary

The RAC in the United Kingdom is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. You will operate on pre-booked, planned schedules with a RAC van, performing routine servicing, diagnostics, and in-depth repairs for members at their homes or workplaces.

Expect a 40-hour week with core hours and some Saturdays. A strong base salary (~£40k) with on-target earnings up to £52k, overtime options, benefits, and career development opportunities in a growing, structured mobile service division.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years' experience.
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
