Job summary

RAC is hiring Mobile Mechanics to execute planned servicing and diagnostics on members' vehicles at driveways, car parks, or workplaces. You’ll work from a pre-booked schedule, prioritising quality and RAC standards with the full support of a well-equipped RAC van and diagnostic tools.

The role focuses on planned repairs rather than emergencies, offering independent work with clear schedules, overtime options, and opportunities to advance through the SMR development path.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years' experience
• Or 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In-depth repairs you'd normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
