Job summary

RAC is recruiting for Mobile Mechanics within the SMR division, delivering planned, structured repair and servicing directly to members at driveways and car parks across the Northampton area. You’ll have a clearly scheduled list of pre-booked jobs, with the time, tools and RAC support needed to do quality work.

From day one you’ll have a fully equipped RAC van, fuel card, uniform and advanced diagnostics. The role emphasizes planned work, independence, and the ability to deliver safe,

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years' experience.
• or
• 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In-depth repairs you'd normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards

Skills

NVQ Level 2 / equivalent qualification
