Job summary

The RAC is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for its SMR division. You’ll perform pre-booked servicing, diagnostics, and in-depth repairs on customers' vehicles at driveways and car parks, supported by a fully equipped RAC van and advanced diagnostics.

With 40 hours per week, core hours 8:30am–5:00pm and a 1 in 4 Saturday rota, you’ll enjoy structured work, career development, and a comprehensive benefits package including pension, life cover, and employee discounts.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• Full UK Driving Licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing.
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
• In-depth repairs you’d usually complete in a workshop.
• Member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.

Skills

NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Veh

5+ years’ experience as Vehicle Tech/M

Full UK driving licence (<6 points)
