Job summary

RAC is looking for Mobile Mechanics to service, diagnose and repair vehicles on-site at customers’ locations in the Newbury cluster area, including Andover. You’ll work from a pre-booked schedule with a fully equipped RAC van and advanced diagnostics, ensuring quality work with clear timelines.

The role offers a 40-hour week (8:30–17:00), occasional Saturdays, overtime and bonus opportunities, and a structured development pathway within the SMR division.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years' experience.
• Or 5+ years' experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic.
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and diagnostics using mobile equipment.
• Perform in-depth repairs you'd normally complete in a workshop.
• Provide member advice and recommendations based on inspection.
• Conduct vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards.
• Work on a clearly planned, pre-booked schedule with no reactive callouts.
