Job summary

The RAC is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician in the SMR division to perform planned servicing, diagnostics and repairs on customer vehicles across the Cambridge area and surrounding towns. You will operate with a fully equipped RAC van and digital scheduling, delivering high quality service on pre‑booked jobs.

Expect a base salary around £40,170 with earnings up to £52,000, overtime options, 40‑hour weeks and optional extra rest days.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience or 5+ years’ experience as Vehicle Technician/Mechanic and a full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In‑depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
