Job summary

RAC is seeking a Mobile Vehicle Technician in the SMR division to perform planned servicing, diagnostics, and on‑site repairs for members. You will work from a pre‑booked schedule with no emergency callouts, ensuring high‑quality workmanship.

You’ll operate from a fully equipped RAC van across the Stevenage cluster, with tools, support, and a clear timetable to complete each pre‑booked job efficiently.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience
• 5+ years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician/Mechanic
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

Responsibilities

• Routine servicing
• Diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment
• In-depth repairs you’d normally complete in a workshop
• Member advice and recommendations based on your inspection
• Vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards
