Job summary

Octane Recruitment Limited is recruiting a Mobile Vehicle Technician for a national breakdown company in Liverpool. The role involves servicing and repairing vehicles at customer locations, including EVs, with a standard 40-hour week and optional overtime.

You will work Monday to Friday with one in four Saturdays, receiving a base salary of £40,170 plus a £6,000 bonus potential and overtime; a company van and fuel card are provided, along with training and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance and repair; Level 3 preferred.
• Minimum 2 years post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions on the go.
• Customer-focused approach and a full UK driving licence (max 5 points).

Responsibilities

• Servicing and repairing vehicles at customer locations (including EVs).
• Perform routine maintenance tasks (oil changes, tire rotations, brakes).
• Diagnose and repair issues using diagnostic tools; communicate recommendations to customers.

Job description

Mobile Vehicle Technician providing servicing, maintenance and repair, via prebooked appointments, at customers home address or place of work. This is a new and specialist division for the number one national breakdown company in the UK, with over 15 million members. Must have right to work in the UK status.

Pay / salary:

£40,170 Basic + Bonus (Up to £6,000) + Overtime at 1.5x (£28.96ph) + Company Van + Fuel Card + Tools Provided, OTE in excess of £52,000+ (Guaranteed overtime option to increase your basic salary)

Monday Friday, 8:30am 5pm, 1 in 4 Saturdays, 40 hours per week

1 day of overtime per month = £3,000 additional per year; 2 days of overtime per month = £5,000 additional per year, completely optional more flexibility, more reward.

Job Responsibilities for the Mobile VehicleTechnician role

• Servicing and repairing vehicles (including EVs) customer selected location e.g. driveway, office car park.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle problems, including engine, transmission, brake, suspension, and electrical issues.
• Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve complex issues.
• Communicate with customers about vehicle issues and repair recommendations.
• Payment handling through card transactions.
• Keep up to date with the latest automotive technology and repair techniques.
• Keep accurate records of all work performed and parts used.

What youll need to be considered for the Mobile VehicleTechnician role

• Must have a minimum of a Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance and repair, ideally Level 3 but will consider level 2. (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent)
• Must have a minimum 2-year post-qualification hands on experience with vehicles. Either in a workshop or mobile vehicle type role.
• The ability to work independently, make decisions on the go, and follow procedures.
