Job summary

Octane Recruitment seeks a Mobile Vehicle Technician to service, maintain and repair vehicles at customer locations, including EVs, on a full-time permanent basis. The role operates Monday–Friday with some overtime options and a company van is provided.

You will work a 40-hour week around 8:30am–5pm, with occasional Saturdays. Training and progression opportunities are available within a growing specialist division of a national breakdown company.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance and repair (Level 3 preferred).
• Minimum 2 years post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles, in workshop or mobile role.
• Full UK driving licence with up to 6 points, no bans.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and repairing vehicles at customer locations (driveways, office car parks, etc.).
• Carry out routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire rotations and brake inspections.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle issues including engine, transmission, brake, suspension and electrical faults.
• Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and fix problems.
• Communicate repair needs and recommendations to customers.
• Handle card payments for services and keep accurate records of parts used.
• Keep up-to-date with automotive tech and repair techniques.
• Maintain thorough service records for all work performed.

Job description

Mobile Vehicle Technician providing servicing, maintenance and repair, via prebooked appointments, at customers home address or place of work. This is a new and specialist division for the number one national breakdown company in the UK, with over 15 million members.

Must have right to work in the UK status.

Location: Liverpool

Pay / salary: £40,170 Basic + Bonus (Up to £6,000) + (£28.96ph) + Company Van + Fuel Card + Tools Provided, OTE: Up to £52,000 (Guaranteed overtime option to increase your basic salary)

Shift and schedule for the Mobile Vehicle Technician role

Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5pm, 1 in 4 Saturdays, 40 hours per week
1 day of overtime per month = £3,000 additional per year; 2 days of overtime per month = £5,000 additional per year, completely optional – more flexibility, more reward.

Job Responsibilities for the Mobile Vehicle Technician role

• Communicate with customers about vehicle issues and repair recommendations.

What you'll need to be considered for the Mobile Vehicle Technician role

• Must have a minimum of a Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance and repair, ideally Level 3 but will consider level 2. (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent)
• Must have a minimum 2-year post-qualification hands on experience with vehicles. Either in a workshop or mobile vehicle type role.
• The ability to work independently, make decisions on the go, and follow procedures.
