Job summary

Octane Recruitment is helping a leading UK breakdown company recruit a Mobile Vehicle Technician in Liverpool. You will service, maintain and repair vehicles at customer locations, including EVs, from a prebooked schedule.

Work 40 hours/week, Monday–Friday 8:30–5, with one Saturday per month. Requires Level 2/3 in light vehicle maintenance and at least 2 years post-qualification experience, plus a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance and repair (Level 3 preferred).
• Minimum 2 years post-qualification hands-on experience with vehicles.
• Ability to work independently and follow procedures.
• Customer-focused approach.
• Full UK driving licence - max 6 points, no bans.

Responsibilities

• Servicing and repairing vehicles at customer locations (including EVs).
• Perform routine maintenance tasks (oil changes, tires, brakes).
• Diagnose and repair vehicle problems (engine, transmission, brakes, suspension, electrical).
• Use diagnostic tools and software to identify issues.
• Communicate repair recommendations to customers.
• Handle payments through card transactions.
• Keep records of work and parts used.

Job description

Mobile Vehicle Technician providing servicing, maintenance and repair, via prebooked appointments, at customers home address or place of work. This is a new and specialist division for the number one national breakdown company in the UK, with over 15 million members.

Must have right to work in the UK status.

Location: Liverpool

Pay / salary:£40,170 (inclusive of LWA) OTE: In Excess of £52,000

Shift and schedule for the Mobile Technician role

Home based, working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8.30am - 5pm with 1 Saturday per month. When working the Saturday, you will receive a day off in that week. Any overtime past 5pm or an additional Saturday, is paid at time and a half (£30ph)

1 day of overtime per month = £3,000 additional per year; 2 days of overtime per month = £5,000 additional per year, completely optional - more flexibility, more reward.

Job Responsibilities for the Mobile Technician role

• Servicing and repairing vehicles (including EVs) customer selected location e.g. driveway, office car park.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake inspections.
• Diagnose and repair vehicle problems, including engine, transmission, brake, suspension, and electrical issues.
• Use diagnostic tools and software to identify and resolve complex issues.
• Communicate with customers about vehicle issues and repair recommendations.
• Payment handling through card transactions.
• Keep up to date with the latest automotive technology and repair techniques.
• Keep accurate records of all work performed and parts used.

What you'll need to be considered for the Mobile Technician role

• Must have a minimum of Level 2 in light vehicle maintenance and repair or ideally Level 3 light vehicle maintenance and repair qualification (City & Guilds, IMI, NVQ, orequivalent)
• Must have a minimum 2-year post-qualification hands on experience with vehicles. Either in a workshop or mobile vehicle type role.
• The ability to work independently, make decisions on the go, and follow procedures.
