Job summary

PRS is recruiting a Mobile Maintenance Handyperson to join an estates team, working across care homes, healthcare and mental health facilities in the South Midlands and South West. This permanent role offers a basic salary of up to £37,500 per annum plus a van for work use, with call-out and overtime opportunities.

The successful candidate will carry out carpentry, bathroom installations, kitchen fitting, and general building works across multiple sites, with DBS check requirement and a focus on

Qualifications

• Proven experience in carpentry, bathroom fitting, kitchen installation and general building.
• Strong practical knowledge of plumbing, basic electrics, and construction methods.
• Ability to safely use a wide range of hand and power tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Physically capable of manual labour and working in varied environments.
• Good communication and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Relevant trade certifications or technical training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Carry out skilled carpentry works including repairs, installations and bespoke fittings.
• Complete full bathroom installations, including wet-room construction, tiling and plumbing connections.
• Install kitchens to a high standard, including units, worktops and appliances.
• Undertake general building works such as plastering, minor plumbing, basic electrical tasks and repairs.
• Respond promptly to maintenance and repair requests across multiple sites.
• Deliver planned and preventative maintenance to minimise breakdowns and maintain property standards.
• Liaise with the Estates Manager and other contractors to coordinate works efficiently.
• Maintain accurate records of completed tasks, materials used and time spent.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Maintain tools, equipment and materials in good working order.
• Report major issues, hazards or structural concerns to management.
• Provide out-of-hours support when required.
• Carry out any other reasonable tasks requested by management.
