Job summary

The Co-operative Group is seeking a Mobile Funeral Arranger to cover several locations. The role includes preparation, transportation and care of the deceased with professionalism and empathy, supported by full training and competitive benefits.

You will travel across Diss and surrounding towns, meeting clients, arranging visits, and maintaining a comforting, professional environment. The position offers a structured 37.5-hour week and a competitive pension scheme.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Ability to work confidently on their own, including travelling to client meetings or managing a branch.
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal, with clients and colleagues.
• Comfort with basic calculations, cash handling, discounts and invoicing.
• Keen eye for detail, accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Good IT skills and ability to use multiple devices and systems.
• Passion for delivering great service and building relationships.
• High levels of empathy, discretion and care.
• Capable of handling physical duties such as moving coffins with proper training.

Responsibilities

• Travel to meet clients and build positive community relationships.
• Support clients in person and over the phone, arranging family visits and answering questions.
• Ensure funeral home is clean, safe, and welcoming, reporting maintenance issues when needed.
• Use digital systems to manage client documentation, funeral arrangements and invoicing.
• Refer regulated work (funeral plans) to the appropriate team.
• Assist with manual handling and preparation of the deceased as trained.
• Update client management applications with accurate records.
