Job summary

Co-op Funeralcare is seeking a patient and community‑minded team member for a mobile role covering funeral homes across Hertfordshire & Middlesex. You will travel between branches, support families, and help maintain a respectful, welcoming environment for clients.

No prior funeral industry experience is required as full training is provided; a competitive salary, strong pension, and staff discounts are included. You will be joining a supportive Co-op team.

Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence required.
• Comfort with physical duties and handling of coffins as needed.
• Strong communication skills, both in writing and verbally.
• Ability to work with numbers for cash handling and invoicing.
• Good IT skills to use modern devices and systems.
• Empathy, discretion and care in handling sensitive responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Travel to meet clients and build relationships in the community.
• Support clients in person and over the phone, arrange family visits and answer questions.
• Ensure funeral home is clean, safe and welcoming, reporting maintenance issues.
• Use digital systems to manage client documentation, funeral arrangements and invoicing.
• Refer regulated work to the Funeral Plan Arrangers team as required.
• Assist with manual handling and preparation of the deceased for viewing.
