Job summary

Finning (UK) Ltd in Leeds is seeking a field service engineer to respond to customer repair and service requests, diagnose equipment issues, and provide comprehensive details to create quotes. The role requires on-site visits, effective communication, and adherence to safety and customer procedures.

The engineer will use dealer software and repair techniques, outline parts, coordinate delivery, and perform repairs to meet required standards.

Qualifications

• Apprentice trained or formally trained Engineer (NVQ Level 3 preferred in Land Based Engineering / Plant Fitting).
• Knowledge in the use of field-based diagnosis tools and equipment essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide an estimate of arrival time at customer site based on job instructions.
• Register arrival and site presence with site management and follow customer procedures.
• Diagnose likely causes of equipment problems with customer operators to provide detailed information for a quote.
• Identify required parts and arrange delivery to book follow-up service if needed.
• Undertake repair and service work per the plan, reinstalling components to restore standards.
