Job summary

Finning (UK) Ltd is seeking a permanent Field Service Engineer to respond to customer field repair and service requests, diagnose issues, and provide detailed information to enable quoting. You will work within Finning’s field service department, supporting Caterpillar product diagnostics and repair capabilities at customers’ sites.

The role requires strong customer focus, knowledge of plant equipment, and the ability to work safely and efficiently, using dealer software and current repair

Qualifications

• Apprentice trained or formally trained engineer; NVQ Level 3 preferred.
• Experience as a field service engineer or equivalent.
• Knowledge of field-based diagnosis tools essential.
• Heavy earth moving equipment operating knowledge is desirable.
• LDV driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site diagnostic and repair work in line with branch instructions.
• Attend customer sites and understand needs to resolve mechanical/electrical issues.
• Identify parts required, requisition them and schedule follow-up visits.
• Perform repairs to the agreed work plan and reinstall components.
• Communicate clearly with customers and internal teams throughout the job.
