Job summary

Finning (UK) Ltd. is recruiting a Mobile Plant Fitter to respond to field service requests, diagnose mechanical or electrical issues, and provide detailed information to create accurate quotes for Caterpillar products.

You will work within a team in the West Midlands region, handling site visits and on-site diagnostics. The role requires hands-on expertise, strong customer focus, and the ability to use dealer software and repair techniques.

Qualifications

• Apprentice trained / formally trained engineer (NVQ Level 3 preferred) or equivalent.
• Experience as a field service engineer in heavy equipment is essential.
• Knowledge of CAT field diagnostics and repair techniques preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide arrival time estimates to the customer site based on instructions.
• Contact site management to register arrival and confirm on-site presence.
• Diagnose equipment problems with customer input and site procedures.
• Identify parts required and arrange delivery times for quotes and follow-up visits.
• Perform repair and service work to the agreed plan and reinstall components.
