Job summary

Finning is seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to service and repair plant equipment at customer sites across the UK. You will diagnose mechanical and electrical issues, provide accurate quotes, and travel to sites using our dealer tools.

Qualifications

• Apprentice trained or formally trained engineer; NVQ Level 3 preferred.
• Experience as a field service engineer or development opportunity for apprentices.
• Knowledge of field-based diagnosis tools and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Provide an estimate of arrival time at customer’s site based on job instructions from Branch with details of location, machine, contact name and problem.
• Contact customer site management to register arrival and presence on site and ensure knowledge of customer procedures.
• Diagnose likely cause of equipment problems with customer operators/supervisors using specialised equipment and provide information for the work required; help construct a quote.
• Identify parts required to carry out the repair, requisition parts, and determine delivery times to schedule service visits.
• Undertake repair and service work on the machine as per the plan, removing and despatching components for specialist attention and reinstalling as needed.
