Job description

We are looking for an experienced Mobile Air Conditioning Engineer to be part of our engineering team in Leeds, Manchester, Sheffield and Chesterfield to undertake the maintenance and repair of air conditioning equipment. This includes service, maintenance, and repair of split AC systems and VRV/VRF systems. You may also be required to work on specific refrigeration equipment. (refrigeration desired but can be upskilled if successful).

You will have the opportunity to work across a variety of manufacturer plants, for example, Daikin, Mitsubishi, Media, Toshiba, and LG. Understanding installation designs and bespoke manufacturer troubleshooting procedures, whilst also being comfortable with seeking manufacturer technical support autonomously, is desirable. You will be expected to complete all work-related documentation accurately and on time, keeping logs of inspection reports and remedial work.

Candidates should desirably have a clean full current driving licence. You will be expected to be capable of performing manual tasks, including manual handling, working at heights and in confined spaces. Good verbal and written communication are important, including the ability to use a handheld computer device (PDA). You’ll need to be highly self-motivated, and solutions focussed with the ability to work without supervision but also enjoy working as part of a team.

The ideal candidate will have experience within a commercial Maintenance / Facilities Management environment. You must have relevant qualifications e.g., FGAS & ODS regs, time served apprenticeship, C&G Level 3 / NVQ or equivalent. Also, knowledge of Health & Safety, Permit to Work procedures and safe systems of working. You will be provided opportunities for training, development, progression, and internal promotions.

Experience of maintenance, testing and fault-finding on a variety of equipment, including HVAC systems and lighting is desirable. (desired but can be upskilled).

Refrigeration or Air Conditioning Specific Qualification (Not being F-Gas) such as the following:
  • NVQ level 2 or 3 in Air Conditioning and Small Refrigeration.
  • City & Guilds Refrigeration and Air-conditioning (7189) Level 2 or 3
  • City & Guilds Refrigeration, air-conditioning and heat pump systems (6090) Level 3 only.
  • F-Gas Category 1 (City & Guilds 2079, was 2078 Safe Handling of Refrigerants)
  • C&G 236 Part 1 & 2.
  • BS7671 Electrical Regulations.(desired but can be upskilled).
  • C&G 2391 Electrical inspection and Testing (desired but can be upskilled).
