Job summary

E-ppl Ltd on a key fleet maintenance and sustainment contract in Ashchurch, Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire, seeks a Military Mechanic. You will perform inspections, routine maintenance and repairs on military platforms, ensuring compliance to standards and deadlines.

The role includes defect rectifications ahead of MEIs, platform upgrades and strong safety practices in a forces-friendly workshop. Shift pattern mirrors a full-time schedule with potential extension.

Qualifications

• NVQ/IMI/City & Guilds Level 2 or 3 or equivalent.
• Military Trade Proficiency Certificates (e.g., REME Vehicle Mechanic Class 1/2, Armourer Class 1/2) or RAF/RN equivalents.
• Hands-on mechanical experience with military vehicles, light vehicles or heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical inspections, routine maintenance and repair tasks.
• Complete defect rectifications ahead of Mandatory Equipment Inspections (MEIs).
• Execute platform upgrades, reworks and fault-finding.
• Maintain workshop safety and regulatory compliance.

Location: Ashchurch, Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire

Pay Rate: £17.00/hr Base Rate + £5.00/hr Living Allowance (£22.00/hr Total Rate) | Paid Weekly

Contract: 6-Month Contract (High Potential for Extension)

IR35 Status: Outside IR35

Shift: Mon–Thu 07:30–16:30 | Fri 07:30–13:00 (13:00 Friday Stand-Down)

Location & Commute

Located right off M5 Junction 9 / A46. Excellent local commutable access from Cheltenham, Gloucester, Worcester, Evesham, Redditch, and Tewkesbury.

To be considered, candidates must provide proof of one of the following:

• Trade Qualifications: Proof of NVQ, IMI, City & Guilds Level 2 or 3 (or Military Trade Proficiency Certificates — e.g., REME Vehicle Mechanic Class 1/2, Armourer Class 1/2, or RAF/RN equivalent).
• Security Clearance: Must be eligible for BPSS Clearance (fully sponsored and managed by E-ppl).
• Experience: Hands‑on mechanical experience with military vehicles, light vehicles, or heavy equipment.
