About the Company

Our client is a fast-growing global trading firm operating across traditional and digital asset markets. Designed by technologists and financial engineers, their platforms prioritise scale, resilience, and high performance.

With a new engineering hub in Belfast, they're investing in building core trading systems and infrastructure locally. The Belfast team is focused on developing high-performance, real-time systems to support a major trading platform launch in 2026.

The Role

We're looking for a Mid/Senior QA Engineer with 3+ years of automation experience to join the founding Belfast engineering pod. You'll help deliver high-quality software by building automated test pipelines, integrating QA into CI/CD processes, and ensuring the reliability and performance of real-time systems.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to QA strategy, influence testing best practices, and gain exposure to complex, high-performance trading systems from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain automated test suites for back-end services, APIs, and data pipelines
  • Identify and report defects, working closely with developers to resolve issues quickly
  • Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery
  • Support QA strategy and contribute to testing standards and best practices
  • Collaborate with engineers to design testable architectures and identify early failure points
  • Contribute to release management and system validation for production deployments
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • 3+ years' experience in QA or software engineering with a focus on automation
  • Hands‑on experience building automated test frameworks in Java, Python, or similar
  • Understanding of distributed systems, APIs, and event‑driven architectures
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud environments (AWS preferred)
  • Exposure to financial systems, real‑time data processing, or trading platforms is desirable but not essential
Essential Criteria
  • Strong experience in automated testing for back‑end systems
  • Excellent debugging, problem‑solving, and analytical skills
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, engineering‑driven environment
  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
What's on Offer:
  • Competitive salary up to £65k plus Bonus
  • Generous benefits package
  • Hybrid working with a modern Belfast office
