Sainsbury's Limited in the UK seeks a General Merchandise Manager to lead store operations, drive outstanding customer service and ensure non-food ranges are presented to delight shoppers. You will oversee daily shop floor and warehouse activity, manage performance and scheduling, and provide direction when senior managers are absent.

This role focuses on KPI delivery across sales, stock availability and colleague engagement, while coaching teams in a high‑volume, customer‑facing environment.

Qualifications

• Track record of delivering exceptional customer experiences and coaching others.
• Experience leading teams in dynamic, customer-facing environments.
• Leadership in high-volume, fast-paced operations across retail/food service.
• Proven success delivering KPIs from sales to customer satisfaction.
• Experience managing complex people matters with fairness.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for management of all non-food products and ensure compelling presentation to delight customers.
• Ensure area runs smoothly from shop floor to warehouse.
• Lead people management, performance, disciplinaries, scheduling and pay.
• Occasionally assume overall store leadership and direct colleagues to deliver for customers.
