About the Company

Our Client is a multi‑disciplinary consulting engineering practice specialising in mechanical and electrical services, with a strong focus on sustainability, innovation and low‑carbon design.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic direction and technical leadership across all MEP engineering services.
  • Oversee the design and delivery of MEP systems on a wide range of building projects.
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations, industry standards and best‑practice guidelines.
  • Lead and mentor the team with a firm “inward focus”.
  • Undertake technical reviews and sign‑off of design documentation.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and design partners.
  • Support the Directors in their efforts to secure new and repeat business opportunities.
  • Contribute to the company’s overall strategic planning and direction as a key member of the leadership team.
  • Promote a culture of innovation, sustainability and continuous improvement.
  • Stay current with technological advances, regulations and industry trends.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Degree‑qualified in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Extensive MEP experience within a design environment.
  • Experience in sustainable and low‑carbon building design.
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership or director‑level role.
  • Strong technical knowledge across both mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and grow high‑performing teams.
  • Strong commercial awareness, resource management and project delivery skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and client‑facing skills.
  • Proficient in the use of relevant design software and BIM workflows.
Desirable Skills and Experience
  • Chartered Engineer status (CEng) and membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. CIBSE, IMechE, IET).
  • Business development or client relationship management experience.
  • Working knowledge of BREEAM, WELL, NABERS, etc.
