Sport Mentor - Alternative Provision (Blackpool)
Location: Blackpool, Lancashire
Job Type: Full-Time / Term-Time Only
Start Date: Monday, 3rd November 2025
Salary: .47 per day

Are you passionate about using sport to positively impact young people in alternative education settings?
We are seeking a motivated and resilient Sport Mentor to work within an Alternative Provision in Blackpool, supporting pupils who face barriers to mainstream education. This is a rewarding opportunity to help students re-engage with learning through physical activity and mentoring.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver structured sports and physical activity sessions tailored to individual needs
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to support personal development
  • Promote positive behaviour, teamwork, and emotional wellbeing
  • Collaborate with teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external agencies
  • Support pupils with challenging behaviour and complex needs

Requirements:

  • Experience working with young people in alternative or SEN settings (preferred)
  • Strong behaviour management and mentoring skills
  • Sports coaching qualifications or relevant experience
  • Patience, empathy, and resilience
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
